Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

During the period 10 - 15 Aug 2012, personnel from Camp SOUTER will attempt to cycle the distance from Kabul to Jalalabd with the intention of raising £4500 for reputable service charities.

This event is in memory of the "last 16,000", who were the remaining British personnel at the end of the first Afghan/Anglo war.  They were provided with a safe passage to retreat from KABUL to JALALABAD, a total distance of 90 miles.  Of the 16,000 British personnel, 4,500 were British troops including Capt "SOUTER", which is where our camp's name originates from.  On reaching JALALABAD, there was only one survivor.

50 personnel will attempt to cover  90 miles each, on a static exercise bike over a 5 day period, completing a grand total of 4500 miles.  The aim is to raise £1 for all British troops who were left to retreat.

So please dig deep, and donate now.  Your kind donations will be gratefully received.
