Story
I am raising money for the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at Kettering General Hospital.
Our daughter, Ellie, was born 10 weeks premature in July 2009 and without the care she received in SCBU, I honestly don't think she would have survived. She weighed just 3lb 11oz when she arrived, and was in an incubator for 2 weeks. Luckily, she did not need any help with her heart or breathing and was into a cot after 2 weeks. Ellie came home after 4 weeks, weighing just over 4lbs.
Ellie is now coming up to 2 years of age and is a very happy and healthy little girl. We owe everything to the wonderful staff on the unit who helped not only look after Ellie, but also helped Gill and myself cope with what was the most difficult time of our lives.
I am taking part in the Chester Marathon in October 2011 and would like to raise as much money as possible to give something back to SCBU for the wonderful treatment and care we received while Ellie was in their care.
Thank you so much in advance of your donation.
