Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As middle age approaches I've decided I need a new sport to fill the gap since retiring from rugby and football until I eventually take up golf. So it's into the lycra I go and triathlon is the new addiction!

There has to be some positive from middle age men squeezing into Lycra so I've decided to try and raise some money for the Northern Ireland Children's Hospice. I've entered the White Bear Triathlon in Ballygally in June - which will be my first open water triathlon. (https://www.whitebeartriathlon.co.uk/white-bear-triathlon)

Our eldest daughter, Heidi, who has severe cerebral palsy and complex medical needs has been receiving support from the hospice for the last 7 years. This has been invaluable to us as a family, providing specialised respite care to Heidi and many wonderful experiences for the whole family which normally wouldn't be possible.

This facility provides vital support to many families in Northern Ireland - and has also provided support to our nephew and the children of two close family friends.

Any support for this brilliant cause would be greatly appreciated!
