Just like way too many families mine has experienced losses to cancers even in children. It's a hideous illness that shows no mercy and I just want to do something to help towards providing care and help for those going through the battle. The fact you're here reading this means you'd like to help too, so thank you so much.
So my mate Darren is doing a ridiculous thing just so people think he is awesome and running what is dubbed as 'The Toughest Foot Race on Earth', 156 miles across the Sahara desert on rationed food and water whilst self-sufficiently carrying my weeks' survival essentials on my back. I could think of easier ways to spend a week abroad. Check out full details here: www.marathondessables.co.uk (If your still reading this, Darren isn't just wanting you to think he is Awesome but if you promise not to tell him, I think he is pretty awesome)
But his challenge is still nothing compared to what many children and families have to go through when diagnosed with brain cancer. In 2006 after a 15 month battle, Carole and Robert Hughes sadly lost their beautiful little girl Anna to a brain tumour at just 3 years and 8 months old. Since then they have devoted themselves to helping raise funds and awareness to provide more help for other children and families facing such horrendous circumstances.
Anna's Hope is an amazing charity devoted to providing better care and facilities for children and young adults with brain tumours. They aim to help patients and families from the point of diagnosis, during treatment and throughout rehabilitation. Brain cancer is 'the forgotten cancer' which has the second highest death rate of any cancers in children and cases have actually increased by more than 10% in the last ten years!
Please help me to help him to help them by raising as much as possible for this incredible and crucial cause.
