Story
Hello friends, family, colleagues, ex-colleagues, business acquaintances (or all of the above, Jersey is a small place!)
I'm delighted to report that I have been selected to take on the biggest challenge of my life and run the 2013 Virgin London Marathon for The Association for International Cancer Research on the 21st April 2013.
For me, this means running roughly 600 grueling training miles between December and April prior to the 26.2 that I will be running on the big day. I have just hit the 100 mile mark which was no mean feat over the Christmas period!
As a selected London Marathon runner, I have pledged to raise at least £2000 for this charity & I would be so grateful for any support you can provide. There is no one I know who can say they DO NOT have a friend or relative or know someone that has battled this terrible disease. I will be dedicating my run to the close family and friends that have lost their battle over recent years but by taking part in this challenge, hope to make a difference for the future.
The Association for International Cancer Research funds cutting edge research into the causes of cancer. In the past 32 years, donors have supported a large variety of projects in all corners of the world. AICR currently have 182 projects underway.
The AICR Scientific Advisory Committee sits twice a year to evaluate project proposals from some of the world's top scientists. After intense scrutiny grants are awarded to those projects that meet AICR’s strict criteria.
This ensures that AICR funds only research of the highest quality. In the financial year 2010/11 AICR funded 50 projects worldwide in 15 different countries. If you would like to join thousands of donors around the world and help in the search for progress, please consider making a donation.
AICR is a member of the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) – a membership organisation of the leading medical and health research charities in the UK.
I would be grateful for any contribution that you can make to this extremely worthwhile charity.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration. I look forward to any support that you or your organisation can provide, and I look forward to sharing my experiences with you!
Warmest Regards,
Brendan
