Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Dear Friends/Colleagues
There are 800,000 people in the with some form of dementia with numbers set to rise to one million by 2021. (Figures supplied by Alzheimer’s Society).
On 17th April our mother died after suffering from dementia for years, probably for more years than we actually realised. We were lucky because we were a large family and could help and support our mother during her illness. Many families are not so lucky and need the help of the Alzheimer’s Society to help both them and their loved ones through this illness.
Alzheimer’s Society provides support for people with all forms of dementia and for those who care for them. It runs quality care services, funds research and campaigns for improved health and social care and greater public understanding and awareness of dementia.
On 15th June I will be celebrating my 50th birthday. To mark this point in my life I am arranging a walk from Cushendun to my home . This will take place on Saturday 14th June at 4.00pm. I will be joined by my own family, relatives and friends to help raise much-needed funds for the Alzheimer’s Society. This will finish with a get together in Hunters Bar and Restaurant that evening which you are all welcome to join.
Now I am asking for your help. If you feel that you can support this fundraising event can you please donate. Please also remember to claim the gift aid on your donation. All donations big or small will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you all for your support in helping to raise much needed funds which will be forwarded to the Alzheimer’s Society in due course.
Yours sincerely,
Brendan Butler
