Hello. I am currently taking part in a leadership course through cadets called Junior Leaders. This course aims to develop the leaderships skills of young people using military skills as a vehicle. The skills taught on this course are highly beneficial in civilian and Military life and help me towards my future Career and ambition of joining the forces.

As part of this course I am required to show my management skills by organizing, risk assessing and running a funraising project to raise money for the John Thorntons Young Achieves Foundation.

The JTYAF supports young people from a wide range of youth organisations providing them with scholarships and bursaries to support their personal development and the pursuit of their ambitions.

John Thornton himself  was an exceptional student of this course and even became staff member and taught on the course.  He then went on to become a commissioned Royal Marine Officer in 2004. Although John was tragically killed in 2008, whilst serving our country in Afghanistan, the JTYAF was set up by his parents in his honor.

To raise money for this charity and help thousands of young people like me achieve their goals, I have organised a fun night at my Air Cadet Squadron where I will also be getting my legs fully waxed. I have set a goal of raising £500 for the charity.

I will need all of your support to achieve this goal and appreciate any donations you give.

Thank you
