In 2005, I raised money for Child Rescue Nepal by trekking to Everest Basecamp. Our group then visited the school and met the children - full of resilience and laughter - who were learning new skills and getting an education, and who welcomed us with such big smiles. I have supported CRN since then, and continue to follow the stories of the children. I hope to go back one day. In the meantime, I am going to run my first marathon - and hope that my efforts can raise some of the money that this superb charity relies on. I am breaking with my tradition of avoiding navigating social media (possibly a more daunting task for me than the actual run!), in order to spread the word about the wonderful work CRN does, and to try and reach my fundraising target.
