Story
The phrase National Three Peaks Challenge is well known amongst the more adventurous. This challenge involves walking the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours and is renowned as being one of the toughest of UK physical endurance challenges.
The three peaks are:
1. Ben Nevis – this is the first mountain to climb, it is a long hard climb starting just above sea level and climbing to the highest peak in the UK at 1,344m
2. Scafell Pike – the second mountain at 978m above sea level is sometimes deemed the toughest of the three mountains. Climbers will start walking in the dark at 4am climbing the peak with the steepest ascent from 80m above sea level
3. Snowdon – starting Snowdon at 350m above sea level and climbing the last mountain to a height of 1,085m, the path is well trodden and is the smallest climb of the three.
Boultbee has entered a team to participate in the challenge on the 5 & 6 July 2013 and is in direct support of the worthy charity Concern Universal. All funds raised will go to Concern Universal’s International work across Africa, Asia and Latin America responding to the basic yet urgent needs in the communities reaching out and helping over 2.2 million people.
The Boultbee team have been training hard since the end of last year and includes Debbie Bateman, Terri Beaumont (Toolbox Commercial), Adam Pinnell, Helen Spencer, Lee Thompson and James Whitcher.
If you would like to sponsor our team your contribution is most gratefully received.
