Raising money for Macmillan as I train for the 2024 London Marathon.
---
I had to pull out of the London Marathon 2023, due to slow recovery from a Covid infection in September 2022. I'm keeping this page live because I still want to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan.

At the age I am now, my Mum died on 28th April, 1986, and during her illness, Macmillan nurses made a massive difference to our ability to cope as a family.
Macmillan is a charity that helps to make cancer a fact of life, rather than an end of it, and they have been there for countless people throughout my life. This is my attempt to thank them and return the favour by offering my support to them.
I was originally signed up to London 2020, and we all know what happened to halt that (thank you to everyone who has already sponsored me). In the time since then I’ve had a year off running due to injury (sustained taking out the recycling!), lost the fitness levels I had, and gained two stone. Running 26 miles wasn’t going to be easy when I signed up in my peak fitness, so I dread to think how tough it’ll be now. By the time April 2023 arrives I aim to be fitter and slimmer and repaired, but any sponsorship you can provide - to support Macmillan and encourage me with the long hours of training I’ve got ahead of me - will be gratefully received.
