Story
In April 2012 Bob and his family will be joining Sir Ian Botham in London on the final stage of his latest walk in aid of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
The year 2012 will mark 5 years since Bob was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and underwent very intense chemotherapy treatment and a stem cell transplant from his wonderful sister, Liz. Thankfully, he remains in remission and now enjoys life to the full.
Bob has known Ian since they both played together for Somerset nearly 40 years ago but little did he realise that all the hard work Ian has done in raising money through his many walks for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research would have a real effect on Bob’s life one day.
Bob feels that he is now fit and ready to support Ian in his latest venture. Bob will be walking, together with his family, as a thank you to all those who saw him through the dark days of his illness, in memory of his father-in-law who died of the same leukaemia and in the knowledge that there is still so much more research to be done in finding a cure for all the diseases that come under the umbrella of blood cancers.
Any contribution you feel that you are able to make in sponsoring Bob and his family as they participate in the walk will be gratefully received. Thank you ever so much.
