Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I will be running Half Marathon on the 1st of May 2017 to help raise money for such an amazing Charity in memory of a loved one.

Just a little bit about Alzheimer's Research:

"In 2015/16, for every £1 we received, we spent 89p on directly improving the lives of people with dementia. The other 11p goes towards generating future income.

Thanks to you, last year, our income increased from £90.7 million to £97.9 million. We spent 12% more on our work meeting the needs of people affected by dementia, inspiring change and advancing research. Through our local services, your support directly helped over 100,000 people.

More than 850,000 people live with dementia in the UK and that number is rapidly rising.

At £24 billion each year, dementia costs the UK economy more than cancer and heart disease combined but over two thirds of the care for patients with dementia is paid for by themselves or their family.
· £20 could fund one hour of vital research
· £50 could provide access to specialist equipment for studying cells
· £120 could support complex protein analysis
· £300 could pay for a genetic test to help identify risk genes"

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
