Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Nearly 25 years ago, David completed the All Arms Commando Course as a Royal Navy doctor. It was the start of a life-long association with the Commando Brigade that started on Dartmoor but has taken him to Norway, the Balkans, Iraq and Afghanistan.

The final Commando Test is the "30-miler", an arduous yomp across Dartmoor to be completed in 8 hours. David is facing an equally demanding test, having been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in November 2013.

Twice the age and still having chemotherapy, he is not attempting  to do the test in the original time, but does aim to complete his original route in a single day on 29 September. He will be accompanied by his son, Harry ,and 3 other veterans- Andy Burgess, Tony Cramp and Martin Allison

This will surely  be a demonstration of  all the elements of Commando Spirit - Courage, Determination, Unselfishness and, especially, "Cheerfulness in the Face of Adversity".

Please help him to raise as much as he can for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund.
