Story
Hello Kind Souls,
UCD Medical Students - Brian McDonnell, Sean Griffin, Fearghal O'Neill and David Connellan are travelling to the Billy Riordan Memorial Clinic in Cape Maclear, Malawi this July, as part of the Medical Student Overseas Relief (MSOR) organisation.
MSOR is an organisation specifically created to allow medical students in their clinical years (Year 4 and over) to volunteer in hospitals and clinics in the developing world. We chose the Billy Riordan Memorial Clinic, because this Irish run charity, provides crucial first line access to healthcare, to the community of Chembe and Cape Maclear. We as volunteers will work alongside the permanent staff of doctors and nurses to provide treatment for a range of illnesses including HIV/AIDS, Cancer and Malaria.
We are determined to do all we can to help the community, so we are fundraising not for ourselves, but in order to make a donation to this deserving clinic. All expenses of the trip including flights, vaccinations etc are being covered from our own pocket - this means that every cent raised here, goes directly towards making a tangible difference in the lives of the men, women and children of this community.
All four of us would greatly appreciate if you could make any donation, whether small or large to our cause. Huge thank you from Brian, Sean, Fearghal and David
