Story
In the UK there are over 50,000 cases of breast cancer diagnosed per year.
By training junior doctors, and medical students earlier in their careers about recognising breast cancer, there is the greater opportunity to catch cases earlier and potentially affect the course of a patients care.
Frequently cancer research money goes into a black hole, with the results never being seen by the supporters. In Biking4Breasts, we want to raise money to maximise the training of junior doctors, and the public with the latest breast cancer simulation modules.
Models we'll be showing off during Biking4Breasts
In order to fund these models, so they can be used far and wide in the community as well, we need to raise the £10,000. To get this we are going to ride 2000km...in 24hrs. Yes TWENTY FOUR HOURS
Using the latest cycling simulation software from www.Zwift.com, we will be riding through the day and night outside the main Warwick University Rootes building.
The Zwift virtual island simulates mountains, plains and watersides giving the riders, and spectators an unparalleled static biking experience. A spin class for the 21st Century.
We are not only asking for your help with funds though, come along during the day and give us your legs are well! There will be a series of bikes sit up and logged onto the Zwift island, so you can come and help us reach the 2000km goal.
Plus there will be competitions run during the day for the fastest laps and sprints around the island.
If you think you've the legs to keep you - come along and give it a try.
We will also be promoting self, and breast examinations on the day using the latest simulation modules, demonstration the kit we are raising funds for.
