Story
Hello,
After Carol thinking about it for the last 6 years, and then with the tragic loss of Kathy last year (For those of you did not know her, Kathy passed away last year as a result of cancer. We have placed this photo of her on the site as she is our inspiration and in memory to her.) - we have decided to get our act together and raise as much money as we can for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. We have had to commit to raising a minimum of £4000 between us for this deserving charity.
We are also running for Amanda who passed away 5 years ago, and for Deb and Kit and other friends and family who are currently fighting this terrible disease.
For those runners out there, you are aware of the commitment and time that we need to invest between now and the 25th April . For those of you who are not experienced with long distance running, we will be running a minimum of 3 times per week between now and the race, building up to 3 runs of over 20 miles before we run the marathon which is 26.2 miles. We plan to run it without stopping - which will be a massive effort and achievement for us.
All support with the training would be appreciated, but especially appreciated would be help on the day with lots of cheering (and jelly babies.)
As well as donations, if you could pass this link on to any other friends and family who have been affected or who are dealing with cancer now, it would really help us to achieve our goal of £4000. If you want to organise anything, however small, it would be greatly appreciated. Coffee mornings/raffles/cake sales - the contributions would all add up.
Thank you so much for visiting this page, and for sponsoring us.
