Story
As some of you are aware, on the 11th July 2023, we sadly lost our beautiful Mom, Beverley Williams after a short battle with cancer. Our mom was fit and healthy, playing tennis and golf every day and was the life and soul of every party.
Just one month earlier, on the 7th June of this year, Mom was hospitalised with suspected ovarian cancer after having stomach pains for a month prior. This was then mis-diagnosed as stomach cancer, before being correctly diagnosed as an aggressive form of Stage 4 neuroendocrine cancer of the pancreas and being transferred to the Royal Marsden on the 27th June. Mom was given her first round of chemotherapy about a week later but unfortunately the cancer had spread too rapidly that two days later we were told that she only had days, if not hours, to live.
Given how healthy my mom was this came as a shock both to us and everyone that knew her, and we would like to raise awareness to this rare disease in the hopes that it will raise money for better awareness, earlier prognosis and more effective treatment, to save lives.
Each donation we receive will help us to continue supporting the Neuroendocrine Cancer community and will help us towards our vision of a world in which people know how to recognise, diagnose, treat, care for and ultimately cure patients with a Neuroendocrine Cancer.
