Fundraising for Meningitis Research Foundation
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Meningitis and Septicaemia can kill and disable in hours. It's estimated that 1,000 people die from meningitis and Septicaemia every day. Many more are left with life-long disabilities. We have invested over £17m in vital research and health interventions which aid diagnosis. We spend around £1m a year in the UK supporting those affected and providing free information to the public and health care professionals.
We have chosen this special charity which will remain close to our heart and willing to help raise funds to research into the prevention, detection and treatment of meningitis and septicaemia, raise awareness of these diseases both nationally and internationally, The money raised through James’s remembrance page will help work towards and aim a world free from meningitis and septicaemia.
Also to share our very recent personal experience
I was 22 1/2 weeks pregnant and started to become unwell and was admitted to hospital. Unfortunately they were unable to detect our baby's heartbeat and after further tests they discovered I have caught a extremely rare case in the UK of Listeria Bacterial Meningitis, On Tuesday 19th July 2016 I naturally gave birth to our sweet, perfect little sleeping baby boy James Walter Sefton at 16.16pm. He really is our Angel because if he had not passed away, I would not have been made aware of this horrible infection and may have caused further complication, possibly my life if transferred into my blood stream. We owe our life to James and hope we can continue to raise as much money to help towards beating infection!!!
