Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm Beth, mum to an amazing heart warrior and 22cutie called Enfys.
Enfys was born in August 2015 and was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect shortly after birth.
We never could have imagined the events that followed.
At 2 weeks old, Enfys began to show signs of heart failure. In October 2015, she deteriorated rapidly.
On 9th November 2015, our beautiful little girl was admitted to the cardiac ward at Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales. We expected it to be a quick case of establishing tube feeding and coming home.
On 11th November we were given the news that she would be having surgery within 6-8 weeks.
3 weeks later we were advised she would be celebrating her first Christmas in hospital.
On 22nd December, Enfys was transferred to Bristol for surgery the following day. We fully expected to be home by New Year. It was a bumpy ride, and on 9th January 2016 she was transferred back to Cardiff for a short stay in intensive care there.
On 12th January, Enfys was diagnosed with Di George Syndrome (the second most common chromosome abnormality after Downs Syndrome).
Our beautiful little Rainbow finally came home on 9th February 2016 after 3 months in hospital.
Without Noah's Ark, Enfys wouldn't be thriving now. It would have been much much worse.
We, as a family, are so grateful to Noah's Ark, the staff (all of them) for giving us back our baby. Now it's time to give something back to them.
I am beginning a weight loss journey. I don't know how much I want to lose overall but anything is a start yes?
So who will support me in my challenge to raise money for a cause close to my heart?
