Story
216 is the the theme of my fundraiser as back in September 2012 I spent 216 hours in an induced coma with life threatening pneumonia. Thanks to the team at North Tees intensive care unit I am here today.
So why after 9 years am I finally showing my gratitude? After recent coverage of ICU wards across the world during the pandemic it really hit home how hard hospital staff work so that their patients can go back home to their loved ones.
Starting from 4/10/21 myself and members of my family will be working together to reach my goal of cycling/walking/running 216 miles. We hope to complete 20 miles everyday over 10 days. On the 16/10/21 myself and 3 other members of my family will all walk the last 4 miles to make up the remaining 16 miles.
I hope to raise £216 pounds which will all be donated to the ICU at North Tees hospital, any extra money raised will also go directly to ICU.
If by any chance someone sees this and has ever worked or still works on any intensive care ward I want to thank you for everything you do. I cannot and never will be able to put into words how grateful I am to you all!
