Story

I'm running the Great North Run in September 2014 in aid of the Alzheimer's Society to support the amazing work they do for patients and families affected by dementia.

My family has benefitted so much from the support of the Alzheimer's Society since my Grandad was diagnosed with vascular dementia.

The dementia carers support group has been a lifeline for my Nan who, until recently, was a full-time carer for my Grandad. Without this support group, it would have been so much harder for my family to cope with the deterioration of my Grandad's condition.

The Great North Run will be my first ever half marathon and is going to be a big challenge for me, as someone who is more used to donning ice skates than trainers!

So please help me reach my target and keep me motivated, while supporting such a fantastic cause.
