Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
We have set this page up for donations in memory of Beryl Saunders who died aged 64 on 27th November 2015. She is survived by her loving husband Brian, daughters Karen and Andrea and grandchildren Ryan, Jade, Charlie and Chloe.
Beryl was diagnosed with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, piZZ phenotype, in August 2014 and during that time she endured many hospitals visits and fought this terrible illness which affected her lungs but mainly her liver.
Instead of flowers, a donation to Alpha-1 UK would be so much more appreciated in order to help raise awareness and a cure for this rare and hereditary condition which is currently incurable.
Through your kind support Alpha-1 UK will be able to continue funding their programmes of supporting research, campaigning for better access to treatment, providing information and supporting Alphas, their families, carers and friends. We know there is so much more that can and needs to be done to promote better knowledge and understanding of Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency and with the help of donations from supporters such as you and your family we will continue to see improvements within the Alpha-1 community.
