From birth I have been fortunate enough to receive excellent care for my cleft lip and palate. However millions of children across the world live with the burden of untreated cleft lips and palates. The harsh reality for these children is that untreated clefts are a health issue that go way beyond the cosmetic. Not only do these children live in isolation, most of them have trouble eating, breathing and speaking. 

This is why I have decided to run the London Marathon 2021 to support the work of Smile Train.

Smile Train is an international children's charity dedicated to this single, solvable problem. They provide the resources needed around the world so that any child born with a cleft lip or palate can receive the simple, 45-minute surgery they need to transform their life. 

• 200,000+ new babies are born with clefts every year globally.
• £150 can cover the cost of cleft surgery.
