Story
This is my first marathon and because it is most certainly going to be my last - I've decided to go all out for victory on April 22nd. By default, I'll be having a stab at the World Record too.
It's not a decision I've made lightly, but against the wishes of concerned friends, family and internal organs, I'm going all out for gold for GB.
Why such confidence:
- I was named the most efficient paperboy in the Staffordshire region (1999,2000,2002)
- My work location demands my thighs pound the tube's longest escalator daily.
- I have some banging tunes of my iShuffle - including Tina Turner's Simply The Best, both acoustic, live and studio versions.
- And joking aside, I have a huge motivation that I know will push me to the finish. The money I raise will all go to Shooting Star CHASE hospice - a charity that cares for West London and Surrey families with a child or teenager who are not expected to reach their 19th birthday. I feel fortunate and honoured to have the health to run for such an important cause.
It is your donations that will give me the spirit to pop on lycra at 6am four times a week, will spur me on to orbit my local village like a flurescent comet and will help extend invaluable moments of support, love and care to children with a life-limiting conditon.
