The aim of NAYC is to help and educate young people, especially, but not exclusively through their leisure-time activities, to develop their physical, mental and spiritual capacities that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and as members of society.
NAYC sets up new groups and supports existing youth clubs. The involvement of young people in the planning and delivery of our work as well as being part of the decision making process is paramount to the success of all we do
NAYC area leaders work with over 16,000 young people to deliver engaging sessions in more than 330 youth clubs across the county. Area leaders deliver a wide range of activities from discussion groups on topics such as anti-bullying, to craft workshops, sports sessions and games such as human hungry hippos! Sessions aim to develop friendships, increase confidence and empower young people to realise the skills and talents they have.
Older youth club members are also able to attend the Emerging Leaders Training which is designed to recognise those with leadership qualities and nurture these skills.
NAYC also delivers various training courses to club leaders, on topics ranging from cyber safety, dealing with difficult behaviours and volunteer recruitment amongst others. Providing safe, quality provision for young people is key and we strive to ensure people have the essential skills so this can take place. Please join us as we strive to continue supporting Northamptonshire's young people.
