As many of you will know, our daughter Seren was born with bacterial meningitis which could have killed her. Whilst she was extremely poorly for the first couple of weeks or her life, she fought through it to become the strong, funny, warrior princess she is today! It was, without a doubt, the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with in my life and something I wouldn't wish anyone else to go through. 

As well as Seren, 2 other people close to our family have contracted meningitis. This has had a huge impact on our life and that of their families. 

Meningitis Research Foundation provide life-saving information and fund vital medical research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of meningitis. Their vision is for a world free from meningitis and septicemia, and one of the ways they can achieve this is through fundraising from events such as the London Marathon. 

I have always wanted to run the London Marathon but have never been lucky enough to secure a ballot place. I couldn't think of a more worthy charity to represent in this event, so please dig deep and donate whatever you can.
