Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running this year's London Marathon on 24th April 2016. The furthest I've run to date is a half marathon, so 26 miles (42km) will test me to the limit. Training started in November and is going well so far...
I am running in memory of William Duarte - my brother in law. We lost him last October after a short battle with cancer, at only 50 years of age.
I'm raising money for Woking & Sam Beare Hospices who provide vital palliative care for cancer patients and those with other terminal illnesses.
"Hospice care is based on the belief that each person is more than their illness, and that each of us has unique physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. Woking & Sam Beare Hospices responds to the needs of each individual, helping people achieve the best possible quality of life."
The hospices have running costs of £8 million per year. They make no charge for their services; all patient care is entirely free. They rely on donations and other fundraising activities to fund their work.
