Story
Ben McQueen was an amazing walker or ‘Yomper’ as they say in the Royal Marines. Tragically Ben died aged 26 in a training accident on November 14th, 2018. Kathy (Ben’s mum) and Josh (Ben’s older brother) who also love walking have decided to walk in remembrance of Ben.
Josh is walking 30km on Ben’s birthday (20th March) from his home in Carnduff, Saskatchewan, Canada to the US border.
Kathy is walking 34 miles on the Avon Valley Path in the UK starting on Mother’s Day (19th March) and ending on Ben's birthday. She would love you to join her for some or all of her walk or even just meet up along the way at one of the watering holes.
If anyone else wants to join in, including doing something around this time in your location, please contact Kathy or Josh by phone, email or WhatsApp.
In remembering Ben they hope to raise lots of funds for Woody’s Lodge (www.woodyslodge.org), a charity with a vision to provide an inviting meeting space for veterans of the UK Armed Forces, Emergency Services and Reservists to re-engage with life, their families and their communities. If you can please donate to this wonderful charity.
