Story
Today I have launched my very own page on just giving. I am looking to raise £2000 in the memory of my younger brother Ben Manning who died this year after a night out in Wakefield. His life was taken from us so tragically, and even though we have set up a foundation in his name. I want to raise funds to ensure that other families do not go through the same as we have.
I want to raise enough money to be able to place adequate signs to warn of the water danger, I want to put a light over the bridge where Ben went in the water to ensure that others who walk down there can see where they are going. I want to raise enough money to ensure that if anything like this can be averted in the future then we will do it to the best of our ability.
Please if you can help, just £1 donation can help me ensure that adequate signs and lighting are placed on the riverside to prevent other kids from going in the river.
Thank you
Lee Manning
You can donate by text message: Text BMMF47 and the amount you wish to donate to 70070 example BMMF47 £1 to 70070 every penny goes to the cause and will help us prevent other families suffering like we have at the hands of the river calder.
So far no one has come forward to the ownership of the stairway Ben used to gain access to the riverside, but one day we will find out and one day we will push for legal proceedings to have them removed and safety returned to the site. In the meantime though we want to secure the area to prevent others from getting hurt.
Thank you
