Story
In 2010 our friend Will Black was involved in an accident on the last day of the Monaco Boat Show. As Bosun on one of the yachts, Will was doing what he loved to do and had no reason to believe that his life was in danger. While travelling from another yacht to the one he was working on an incident occurred where he was knocked from the boat. After an extensive search, Will was never found and no responsibility was taken by the owners of the yacht at all. To give back to the industry Will loved so much, the Blacks, who my sister and I shared so many fond memories with as kids, have set up a bursary to offer new sailors the opportunity to live their dreams through training with the UKSA. This will enable Wills infectious personality, drive and determination to live on through countless budding sailors as well as raise awareness for the safety of these young lives in the industry. As well as a personal challenge for me, my hope is that the money raised will help someone benefit from the ever growing popularity of the Will Black bursary! Thanks so much for reading and for your ongoing support. X
