Story
Despite my anxiety and depression I had an amazing 26 year career in medical device sales and over the years have learnt to manage my condition which is still quite challenging sometimes. Admitting I was having a bad mental health to any of my company vice presidents or sales directors would have been totally detrimental to my career so I always just took a few deep breaths or burst out crying in between appointments ( waterproof mascara fab!).
I am organising a fundraising evening for Mind in Salford on 7th May at the Coffee Sack, Prestwich.
The event will involve an African drumming session which I have participated in myself, it gives you such an amazing buzz. In addition to being a group activity, drumming is inclusive, accessible and its positive impact is immediate. The second half of the evening will be an interactive session with a respected Health Coach who has quite literally transformed people’s lives.
I want an individual to believe it's perfectly OK to say I am having a bad mental health day, like others say my back is playing up or my blood glucose levels are a bit up and down.
Thank you for donating. No one can ever predict if we maybe faced with a mental health issue in our lives.
