Story
On Sunday 28th May 2017 as part of our double disco takeover at Gorilla, Manchester’s Bad Fun resident artist Amy Coney performed a 10hr live painting in honour of Manchester following the heartbreaking events that took place on the 22nd May at Manchester Arena.
From 12noon Amy began painting alongside the Bad Fun disco brunchers while DJ's Kit Muir, Jona Sul, Jonjo Williams and Loz Goddard kept the positive vibes going strong...
The painting featuring Tony Walsh’s poem ‘This Is The Place’ went to auction with ALL PROCEEDS going to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund and Forever Manchester - raising a whopping £7100 for the original canvas!
For all who want to get involved – this is your chance to own an iconic piece of Manchester Artwork and really give something back. The painting entitled ‘Bee Love’ is a picture of the Manchester bee (attached) with the words of Tony's ‘This is the Place’ poem in the wings.
The painting itself is signed by Tony Walsh, in addition to artists and legends from Manchester and beyond:
