Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm finally taking the plunge to commit to running the Great South Run 2017. It will be the day after my birthday, so no party for me! I will be running in memory of my mooma (yes...that is what I called her..) who passed away in June 2016 and will be fundraising for Target Ovarian Cancer.
Ovarian cancer is known as the 'silent killer' because so many women don't have any symptoms/don't get their symptoms checked out before it's too late. It is also super difficult to diagnose in the first place, with many women being diagnosed with IBS or something else less sinister - this is what happened to my mum for months. If you would like to donate to my cause, here's what your money could be spent on...
- £20 could enable 40 GPs to update their knowledge of ovarian cancer and best practice for early diagnosis.
- £50 could pay for laboratory equipment to help research better treatments for ovarian cancer.
- £100 could pay for leaflets for 400 women regarding the symptoms of ovarian cancer.
This is very personal to me, and I am really scared that I might pass out/vomit my guts out before I finish, so I would love you forever if you could donate even £1 to spur me on with my training.
