Hi
We are going to run the Great North Run for a really special charity which provides critical support to sufferers of Tuberous Sclerosis which is a rare and debilitating condition.
Kimberley is 6 years old and suffers from Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC). She was diagnosed with the condition shortly before her 1st birthday. TSC is a rare complex genetic condition caused by an alteration in a gene.
People with TSC have benign tumours in different organs. Kimberley has multiple tumours on her brain and kidneys, and also has skin growths, pigmentation, learning difficulties and behavioural problems. She also suffers from seizures which have led her to require long periods of time in intensive care in Great Ormond Street hospital.
The TSA provides a lifeline to those affected by TSC. It offers support and advice, specialist clinics and research into the condition.
The money we raise from your donations will mean a great deal to Kimberley and her family and other sufferers of this condition.
