Story
In October 2017 Becca was rushed into A&E with Sepsis. It was at this time she was found to have heart cancer.
She was treated at the Churchill Hospital and had her chemotherapy there. Everyone was wonderful and the care first class.
Sadly the chemotherapy didn't work and Becca was rushed to Harefield Hospital where she was the first person in the UK to have cardiac cancer treated with the installation of a Total Artificial Heart.
She had to remain cancer free for twelve months, which she did. She was then added to the urgent transplant list during January 2019.
Becca was called for a heart transplant mid-February. The heart was good and the surgery went perfectly.
Sadly a few hours afterwards things took a downturn. She had at least six further surgeries/procedures over the following week.
The following Tuesday evening the doctors carried out a CT scan of her brain.
Sadly they found she had suffered a catastrophic bleed in her brain and would not recover.
On Wednesday 27th February close friends and family came to see her for one last time at Harefield. In the afternoon her life support was switched off and at 3.30pm she gained her angel wings.
Becca was a wonderful young woman who gave so much to so many and always wanted to help make each person's corner of the world that little bit better.
She will be forever loved and her memory treasured.
