IM RUNNING THE BLOODY LONDON MARATHON!!!! 

I miraculously managed to get a place in the ballot (not sure if this was a blessing or a curse) and I’m going to run it for The Sick Children’s Trust for my lil baby niece, Amelie (also known as peanut!!).

She was born 7 weeks early and weighed only 3lb 11oz (hence peanut) and ended up spending the first 6 weeks of her little life in hospital. Thanks to The Sick Children’s Trust, my brother and sister-in-law (who lived a 45min drive away at the time) were able to stay with Peanut at the hospital until she was transferred closer to home. 

So, what is The Sick Children's Trust?

The Sick Children’s Trust provides free home from home accommodation so that families can stay close to their loved ones when they are going through some pretty tough & scary times!

They have ‘houses’ attached to different hospitals around the UK that have facilities such as: private family bedrooms with direct telephone lines to hospital wards, fully equipped kitchens, living rooms, play rooms, laundry rooms, gardens etc etc. all for FREE!!!! Just the simplest things like having a home cooked meal, putting a load of washing on or going to sleep at night knowing that your child is being looked after a two minuet walk away from your bed, can make the world of difference and bring families the smallest sense of normality when quite often, their whole world has been turned upside down.

Thankfully, lil baby peanut isn’t so little anymore (photo evidence below!) and is a happy, healthy, cheeky, 2 year old and we’d love to thank The Sick Children’s Trust by raising a bit of money so that it could hopefully go towards helping lots more families!
