Story
For 18 months my mother battled a very aggressive brain tumour which unfortunately spread throughout many areas if her body. Macmillan nurses supported her every step of the way at home and in hospital. They provided excellent care, much needed equipment and above all a friendly face for my mum and indeed all the family. Without charitable donations this fantastic service would be crippled and I want to play my part in helping to keep it very much alive.
So.........what am I doing you may ask. Well myself and 4 other merry men are walking from the East Coast from Wallsend near to Newcastle across the country to the West coast near to Bowness-on-Solway. This will be along the very historic route of Hadrians Wall......a grand total of 84 miles. We are scheduled to do this in 5 days starting on Friday 28th April and finishing on Tuesday 2nd May 2017. (We have an extra day in reserve just in case it runs into 6).
Each person has selected charities that they will raise money for as an individual and Macmillan is one of my chosen two. Both charities are in relation to my much missed Mum....Christine Freeman.
Please give whatever you can afford. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
