Story
Sadly, I lost my mum to cancer in October 2012 (she was 54) and St. Catherine's provided great palliative care for her in the 8 months she had prior to diagnosis that it had returned and was terminal.
St Catherine’s Hospice is a charity dedicated to providing specialised end of life care and support to local people, their families, friends and carers.
They critically rely on voluntary donations and legacies and their care is only made possible thanks to the generosity of supporters and volunteers. Mum started going to St. Catherine's when the cancer returned and loved it. Sometimes, even my Nan went along, they made them so welcome.
Mum had the chance to socialise, eat well, have a good gossip and get involved with a little creative work as well as have visits from inspiring people and the odd pampering too.
Your donation will help others to enjoy whatever time they have and help the staff continue to give help, support and advice to patients, their family and friends.
So in November 2012 I started my first run, a 10k and it's gradually increased from there and now, thanks to your generous donations, I've almost raised £2000 through my charity runs which have gradually increased as my knees have deteriorated!
Did you know over 5000 people are diagnosed with cancer in Surrey alone?
I know Mum would be very grateful for any donations given as am I.
Thank you very much! :)
