Story

Micks Story Former construction worker Mick Gibson, 70 spent his working life in physically demanding jobs. Blurred vision was the first sign something was wrong with his health. An MRI scan confirmed that it was Multiple Sclerosis (MS) The diagnosis came in 1995, Mick was 46 years old. Mick is a familiar face at the Centre, attends weekly therapy sessions which he has done since the Centre opened in 2009. Back then he used a wheelchair and was unable to drive, relying on the Centres minibus to bring him to and from home. By 2015 Mick no longer needed to use his wheelchair around the Centre and he was walking independently around the gym. He also had his driving license reinstated in February 2015. Mick has taken on various fundraising challenges for the charity including sponsored swims, a skydive and a zipwire. I can honestly say that the Centre has changed my life. Mick Gibson
