Story
Make a difference and support homeless families.
Next month on Friday16th October I will be sleeping out on the grounds of Christ Church Cathedral to shine a light on the issue of homelessness in Ireland today.
Let us not forget the tragic death of Jonathan Corry last December in a doorway on Molesworth Street.
Focus Ireland and the Peter McVerry Trust last year started a housing first programme in Dublin and over the next three years they will be working to provide homes for all people who are sleeping rough.
Family homelessness has reached historic proportions in Ireland with more than 1000 children living in emergency homeless accommodation in Ireland often unable to get to school, rarely getting a home cooked meal and sinking into darkness.
I don't want to accept this as today's landscape in Ireland so I'm joining my peers to make a difference.
Please lend your support by sponsoring my journey. All funds raised will go directly to Focus Ireland.
Thank you for your support.
