Along with hearing the megillah, giving food presents and eating a festive meal, giving financial gifts - matanot l'evyonim - to the needy is one of the most important mitzvot of Purim.

The year from last Purim to this Purim has been, to say the least incredibly challenging for all of us. Some will have been sick with the virus, some have suffered with mental issues, many may have lost their jobs and livelihood.

This year we have decided to support families in our own community who have fallen into financial difficulties.

Your donation may help a family put food on the table for a Shabbat meal or to buy provisions for Pesach.

Before you give please reflect on how much you might have saved this year by not eating out, not going to the theatre or cinema, not paying for babysitters, not going on holiday, and not commuting into work.

Please give generously these families are in need of our help.

All the funds donated will be distributed on Purim day.
