Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am walking the 12 Bridges Challenge because good chief executives lead from the front and we need the money for our vital work for the rising number of people with diabetes and those at risk. The route runs across the Thames from Chelsea to Tower Bridge and goes for 8 miles (just about the route around the clothes floors of Selfridges, Liberty and Fenwicks combined?). There are cafes and pubs on the way for uplift and a quick heat (depending on weather) and this will probably be the last thing I do before my hip replacements become overdue!
The funds will be used to ensure we can ensure that kids with Type 1 diabetes get a good deal in the health system and at school and to help fund support sessions for people with Type 2 diabetes to prevent them developing heartbreaking and expensive complications like amputation, stroke, blindness and kidney failure.
