Story
Thanks for taking the time visit to Barbara's JustGiving page.
We created this page in loving memory to Barbara who battled, without ever complaining, to beat bowel cancer.
Tragically, after enduring multiple rounds of the most advanced and agressive forms of treatment, she sadly died on 25th January 2010, peacefully at home with her family.
Barbara fought with tremendous courage and postive spirit. Right to the end she continued to astound the doctors with her determination for life.... She is and should be be an inspiration to us all.
She postively touched so many peoples lives and you can now touch others in the same way, in her name.
Early detection of bowel cancer is critical to survival and instead of flowers at her funeral Barbara requested that donations be made to Beating Bowel Cancer.
This is a national charity, based in Teddington, that aims to create awareness and early detection and to support research in finding a cure for this most terrible of cancers.
We also hope to run an annual ladies doubles tennis tournament at Wentworth, the club she enjoyed being a very active member of and where she had so many friends. In this way we hope to create a lasting memory to Barbara and also a sustainable source of funding for her chosen charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
