Story

The facts:

MAG is an impartial humanitarian organisation helping save lives and build futures for people in current and former conflict zones throughout the world. They have been working in 35 countries since 1989 and are co-laureate of the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize for their work with the Campaign to Ban Landmines. With an emphasis on educating, training and employing the local population, MAG build a sustainable national workforce and help save lives and limbs of a many in Angola, Burundi, Cambodia, Chad, Congo, Cyprus, Gaza, Iraq, Lao, Lebanon, Rwanda, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Vietnam and many more.

The figures:

I'm aiming to raise at least £200. That's £4/m or £1.25/ft of historical brickwall climbing.

The fun bit:

On Sunday 2nd May I will be abseiling from my favourite London landmark. If you would like to come along and cheer me on, you should bring a pair of binoculars and a mega-phone as the grounds around the power station will be shut for health and safety reasons. Photos of the event will be posted here soon after. I'll try and look my bravest :-)

Thank you for taking the time to read this, spread the word about MAG's work and please leave a little donation if you can.

About the charity

Every single day, 13 people are killed or injured because of landmines and other explosive weapons. Half of all civilian casualties are children. MAG finds and destroys these weapons to save lives and rebuild futures; helping people to grow crops, attend school and build homes.
