We train amazing hearing dogs to transform the lives of deaf people

Story

The heat will be 1236 degrees Fahrenheit and wondering – will it hurt?

Why am I doing this?  I’m doing this with some work colleagues to try and raise £10,000 towards supporting a dog for a child with profound hearing disabilities.   Read Jason’s story and see how he benefited from a hearing dog life-changing partnership.

Fourteen year old Jason and his hearing dog Violet have been together for 4 years.  Jason was one of 12 children across the UK to receive a hearing dog as part of an initial trial and he has benefited hugely from Violet, gaining confidence and independence in the process.

Prior to Violet, Jason – who was born deaf and uses British Sign Language to communicate – was a shy, isolated youngster who found it difficult to interact with others. Jason’s hearing loss also caused other problems, this included Jason walking off in public often leading to frantic searches by his family.

Since Violet’s introduction, Jason has become a more independent teenager, engaging with his friends with much greater confidence. He is now happy to stay at home by himself knowing that Violet will be by his side all the time. Violet is very much this boy’s best friend.

So please be generous, dig deep and make a difference for this worthy cause.
