Story
The United Nations and the Prime Minister of India have officially declared the first International Day of Yoga on the 21st June 2015. We are going to celebrate with a challenge and fundraising event! We are going to do 108 sun salutations (or attempt to!) raising money for the people of Nepal.
On the 25th April, a huge earthquake killed more than 8,000 people and injured over 20,000 more. Hundreds of thousands of people are now homeless and desperately need shelter, food and medical supplies. Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world, and is in urgent need of help.
We are raising money for Community Action Nepal who are helping the mountain people and those most in need or affected by the disaster.
If you would like to join us the suggested donation is £20 (£10 or £5 is great too). Please donate here (on our just giving page), and once we see your details we will register you onto the class and be in touch via email. Please contact us directly if you have any queries, we will be happy to help.
The event is taking place Sunday 21st June and runs 3pm to 5pm. We are meeting at our Yoga Studio, 4 Stoney Street at 2.45pm on Sunday. **If we are not at the studio, it means it's warm enough to be outdoors - so if the weather permits we will take the event outdoors - and we will be around the corner from the studio - 2 minutes to walk into St Mary's Gate. Head South onto Stoney Street and take the right onto Warser Gate and then the first left into St Mary's Gate. It's around 150 feet away from the Studio! **
