I will set off for Canada on March 19th before heading North to the frozen landscape of the Arctic. The person behind the training and logistics is none other than David Hempleman-Adams, so I feel in safe hands given they still contain ten fingers following multiple polar expeditions and world records in the most remote ends of the planet. With this expedition I will attempt the first ever traverse of Baffin Island by bike; on a steed that has been built especially for this expedition by Qoroz bikes.

Having had the pleasure of spending several years researching the experiences of children in foster care, the work of Action for Children is particularly aligned with my research endeavour, which was to understand the children's perspective on their care placements. Action for Children are committed to helping children in care and play a vital role in securing the futures of many young people. 

Their efforts provide supportive and loving foundations for those futures, lending a voice along the way so everyone can have their say. Action for Children recognise the diverse needs of children in care and work tirelessly to help some of the most vulnerable young people in our society. 

I have witnessed the incredible work of foster carers and know what a remarkable difference they can make to the lives of the children in their care. Whatever you can spare will cumulatively make a great difference, because it will be supporting AfC who are there for children, making a necessary difference in their lives for 'as long as it takes'.
