Story
BERYL SAYS: This is the first time I have endeavoured to take on such a challenge – I must be mad! However, Wellbeing for Women is such a worthwhile cause in that it both finances the research and education in respect of women’s health. Most of us must know the devastating effect that cancer can have on all of us at any time; it has no prejudice. By taking part in this challenge, I hope to raise funds to further the research on the cancers that effect women, and to educate women to be aware, as early diagnosis of many cancers can have positive results. So any donation, however small, is greatly appreciated. I thank you all in advance, just in case I don’t make it back from the trek! Beryl x JAN SAYS: As I shall reach a significant birthday this year, I decided that I should take on a challenge. So, persuaded by my friend Beryl, I am now join ing her on her madcap adventure. But first I must lose weight and get fit. So I have joined a “Fitness Boot Camp”. At 6am on Monday, Wednesday and Friday off I go to Lower Grange Farm to meet Pip, our trainer, and several other ladies (most of them at least, if not more, than half my age!) who like myself want to get fit. From 6.30am – 7.30am there we are out in the cold, and yes, sometimes rain, working out. I started on Monday 10th January and, somewhat to my utter surprise, I am actually enjoying it. Like Beryl, I am keen to support such a worthwhile cause as Wellbeing of Women - I hope you will be able to support us by donating - thank you. Jan x
