Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

After the success of the cricket tournament I held last year, I have decided to hold another 8 aside cricket tournament again this year on 1st May 2017 (Bank Holiday Monday), at Fordhouses Cricket Club in Wolverhampton, to once again raise funds for Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity. The cause I am supporting is the Star Appeal

Before I discuss the Star Appeal, I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped me with the event last year. Firstly a thank you to Penn Cricket Club for hosting the event, a thank you to Khurram Ahmed and Shezad Hussain, who both played their part in helping me organise the tournament, and a very big thank you to every single person who participated on the day and donated so generously to the cause. Your donations meant a lot to me, and to the Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity too. I hope you will all get involved again this year and help make this an even better success than last year.

The Star Appeal is trying to raise £3.65 million to create the UK’s first centre for children with rare diseases - providing co-ordinated care, treatment and support to help to brighten the lives of our little stars.

Usually people have an unfortunate story behind trying to raise funds for a certain cause. My story is that I just want to give something back and help these young children have the best medical aid available, to help them grow and live a life that we are fortunate to have.

Children with rare or undiagnosed medical conditions can face huge challenges and obstacles as they grow up, and my belief is that they should have the best support available. Birmingham Children's Hospital can provide such support if we all pull together.

I just want to raise funds for such a great cause. Together we can make a difference, so please dig deep and donate now - no amount is too small.

If you are local to the Wolverhampton area then please take the time to attend the event on the day, everyone is welcome.

The address is Fordhouses Cricket Club, Jack Threlfall Memorial Ground, Wobaston Road, Wolverhampton, WV9 5HH.

About the charity

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.
