Awesome Arthur’s ‘5K in May’ Fundraiser
For those of you who don’t know me, please let me introduce myself. I am Arthur. I am a Great Dane cross and as you can see I am a very handsome boy. I have been told that I am about 7 years old and at my last weigh in, I topped the scales at 11 stone (70kg)! Sadly, life hasn’t always been kind to me and when I was found abandoned in a park I was in a very sorry state. I was nothing but skin and bones, struggled to walk, had very bad ears and was covered in painful sores. After being looked after by some lovely people in the doggie hospital I came to stay at Cotswolds Dogs and Cats Home. I have known nothing but love since I arrived at the centre and my wonderful care team, our lovely vet and my friends in the office (where I spend lots of my time) have helped me learn just how good life can be.
I have been working hard on my fitness and heard on the dog vine about the ‘5K in May’ challenge that the centre is running this month and decided this would provide an ideal opportunity for me to show my appreciation to my friends at the centre for all the help and care they have given me. I still can’t walk very far, so I can’t promise huge feats of doggie endeavour but I will provide regular progress updates to keep you entertained and I will tell you a bit more about me and my favourite things along the way.
I can assure you that my personal trainers, nutritionists and lovely vet will be monitoring my progress to ensure I don’t over do it and if needed some of my doggie friends may join me to help me complete my ‘Awesome Arthur’ challenge!
So, Ladies and Gentlemen, I invite you to please support me in my epic ‘5K in May!’
Big slobbery kisses from Arthur!
PS. Please visit the Cotswolds Dogs and Cats rehoming page if you are interested in providing myself or any of my wooftastic friends with a loving home. You will be able to find out more about the sort of homes we are looking for and if you fit the bill you can fill out a perfect match form, which will be reviewed by my friends at CDCH.
